Button and Blind

Some of the most essential terms you need to be aware of when playing poker are Button and Blinds. In poker, the button is a round disc that is rotated among the players. The player who has the button is considered the dealer for a certain round. This buttonblindplayer is also the last to be dealt with cards. He also possesses the last action in all of the rounds excluding the initial betting round. The button is rotated in a clockwise manner. After each deal, the button is moved one seat to the left. Whoever has the button has the right of last action.

Blinds generally consist of part of a player’s bet, unless otherwise specified in other variations of poker. Blinds consist of the small blind and the big blind. The small blind is seated left of the dealer, while the big blind is seated left of the small blind. At least one blind is used in order to encourage flow in the game. The players are required to post blinds before checking their cards. Outside of the big blind, the other blinds may be regarded as dead. In other cases, some casinos have a special dead blind. Let’s say we have a poker game. Based on what has just been said earlier, the player who is seated left from the button posts the small blind. The player who is two seats left of the button posts the big blind. As the initial betting round begins, the first turn belongs to the first player who is seated left of the blinds. As the game progresses, the first turn belongs to the player who is seated left of the button.

Now, you have a basic understanding of button and blinds. Keep these in mind at all times, and you will have an easier time learning how to play poker.
