In Poker, kill pot is a feature that may be used. A variation that usually uses a kill pot is Lowball. A normal scenario in lowball is when a player wishes to receive cards instead of waiting for the big blind. Kill pots allow betting limits to raise through an overblind. There are some of the important rules for Kill Pots, which are described below.

The first rule of kill pots states that a kill pot is neutral in many specific situations. The situations are as follows: The kill button is the initial hand of a new game, the player who won the previous pot leaves the game, and the last pot was split and no one has the kill button. The next rule states that for every deal, only a single kill is permitted. All new players are unable to participate in a kill pot game, except if they wish to kill the next pot.

During lowball games where kill pots are involved, the players are permitted to check their first two cards first before deciding to kill the pot. However, if any of the players obtains a third card, the players are unable to kill the pot. A player is able to kill the pot provided that he possesses four times the amount of the kill blind in his stack. In case you place a smaller amount in the pot, and you did not notice that the pot was a required kill pot containing the kill button face-up, and was killed, you are required to place the correct amount. Otherwise, you are allowed to get back your chips. In case a player is able to obtain the high and low pots considering that there is a kill given, and the pot is at least five times the amount of the upper limit, the next hand is killed.

These are just some of the basic rules, and once you master them, you will be able to play games that involve kill pots.

Draw High Poker can be so much fun if you know and understand the rules. We will cover the basic Draw Poker Rules that will help you play this delightful variation.

When you are playing multi-handed pots, keep in mind that there is a maximum bet. Also, you have the ability to raise four times. You are also permitted to check and raise prior and after the draw. In Draw High Poker, the dealer can reveal any card prior to the draw. This card needs to be kept. The players who do not have the button and have only received less than five cards before a move has been made is considered a misdeal. However, if a move has been made, the rules states that the player is allowed to draw cards to compensate for the lacking cards. Draw High Poker rules state that any player is permitted to draw four consecutive cards. The rules also allow a player to draw five new cards. If he prefers to draw five new cards, he is given four consecutive cards, while the fifth card is given only after all the players have drawn cards. It is different for the last player though. The last player who wants to draw five new cards is given four consecutive cards, while a card is discarded prior to receiving the fifth card. A player is not limited by the amount of cards he wants to draw. After drawing a certain number of cards, he is still permitted to change his request. This is tolerable as long as there are no cards given, in relation to your wish. This is also tolerable if no one has made a move such as betting or stating the amount of cards he wants to draw in relation to the amount of cards you requested.

Some of the most essential terms you need to be aware of when playing poker are Button and Blinds. In poker, the button is a round disc that is rotated among the players. The player who has the button is considered the dealer for a certain round. This player is also the last to be dealt with cards. He also possesses the last action in all of the rounds excluding the initial betting round. The button is rotated in a clockwise manner. After each deal, the button is moved one seat to the left. Whoever has the button has the right of last action.

Blinds generally consist of part of a player’s bet, unless otherwise specified in other variations of poker. Blinds consist of the small blind and the big blind. The small blind is seated left of the dealer, while the big blind is seated left of the small blind. At least one blind is used in order to encourage flow in the game. The players are required to post blinds before checking their cards. Outside of the big blind, the other blinds may be regarded as dead. In other cases, some casinos have a special dead blind. Let’s say we have a poker game. Based on what has just been said earlier, the player who is seated left from the button posts the small blind. The player who is two seats left of the button posts the big blind. As the initial betting round begins, the first turn belongs to the first player who is seated left of the blinds. As the game progresses, the first turn belongs to the player who is seated left of the button.

Now, you have a basic understanding of button and blinds. Keep these in mind at all times, and you will have an easier time learning how to play poker.

Lowball Poker uses a style wherein the low poker hands are the winning hands. Lowball Poker is also played in different styles, depending on players’ preferences. Some players may prefer considering the ace as a high card whereas other would prefer the ace as a low card. Or, some players would choose to use straights and flushes, while some would rather not include them in the game. Lowball is played in different styles such as Ace-to-five low, Ace-to-six-low, Deuce-to-seven low, and Deuce-to-six-low.

In Ace-to-five low, the combination 5-4-3-2-A is the lowest possible hand. This combination is also known as the wheel. In this style, the ace is considered a low card. The style also does not include straights and flushes in the game.

In Ace-to-six low,the combination 6-4-3-2-A is the lowest possible hand. In this style, the ace is considered a low card as well. This time, straights and flushes are used, and they are considered high hands. This style is also known as the 6-4 low.

In Deuce-to-seven low, the combination 7-5-4-3-2 is the lowest possible hand. The ace is considered a high card. The straights and flushes are also used and considered as high hands. This style is also referred to as the 7-5 low.

Finally, in the Deuce-to-six low, the ace is regarded as a high card. The straights and flushes are not used in this style.

Lowball is available in a couple of variations such as California Lowball, Kansas Coy Lowball, Razz, Triple Draw, London Lowball. Depending on the game, Lowball can involve a high-low split. In this split pot method, the player with the high hand splits the pot with the player holding the lowest hand.

Lowball is a very interesting style in poker that attracts many players. It provides a unique twist to the game of poker.

Texas Hold’em is a game of skill and strategy. It involved a number of players with two cards each and five shared (community) cards. After all the cards are dealt, players show hands and place them against each other in order to determine the winner. In order to determine the winning hand, please refer to the list below. It is ranked from highest to lowest. Any hand described at the list that is further down the bottom is of a lower rank than those above it.

A Royal Flush is composed of the following cards: 10 J Q K A all of the same suit. The higher suit is considered the winning hand.
A Straight Flush is composed of any five cards of consecutive ranking that are all under the same suit.

A Four-of-a-Kind or a Quad is composed of four cards of the same rank and one other card that can be any card at all. Higher hand is determined by the higher rank.

A Full House or Full Boat is composed of three cards of the same rank combined with two cards of the same rank. For example, three fives and two Aces. Higher hand is determined by the three-of-a-kind, not the pair.

A Flush is composed of five cards sharing the same suit. The rank does not matter here, however if two players have a same-suit flush, the hand with the better “highest card” is the winning hand.

A Straight is composed of five cards that are in a consecutive rank, such as 2 3 4 5 6. Higher hand is determined by the better “highest card”.
A Three-of-a-Kind or “Trips” is composed of five cards: three cards share the same rank while the other two are different cards (different from each other and different from the three other cards). Higher hand is determined by the higher three of a kind.

A Two Pair is compsoed of five cards: two pairs, and one other card of any rank. Higher pair merits the higher hand.

A One Pair is composed of two cards of the same rank and three other cards that are completely different.

A continuation bet or what is more commonly known as the “C-Bet” is the second bet you make before the flop. This means that your sole basis for making that bet is your two pocket cards. Beginners can find it tough to bet after the flop if they have engaged in C-Betting (betting before the flop). Why? Because it’s been proven that poker hands miss more often than they hit. Way more. The basic goal of a C-Bet is to scare everyone into folding, so you can keep all the “dead money” to yourself. First, you can bluff about it. If you get the worst pocket cards in the world but are a pretty great actor, you can place a C-Bet and make the entire table believe you have golden starting hands. Keep up the act during the flop – in fact, crank it up a notch into scaring other opponents. There will definitely be at least one person who folds. Remember that not everyone will fold though. It is best to keep the bet in check if you’re just bluffing – no point in going all-in when you’re just trying to get everyone to fold here. You might get a bad surprise when one of your opponents scores a royal flush!

Second, C-Bets are also great for players who have great starting hands – any pair is golden here, but other starting hands with good potential consist of consecutively high ranks, cards of the same suit, etc. A C-Bet can pose a risk: if everyone folds before the pot develops, then the player loses his shot at a large pot. One of the tricks of playing out the C-Bet when you have good cards is to be consistent. If you have high hopes for your starting hands, then the flop shoots those hopes down, it would come in handy to still pretend your silver starting cards have just turned gold, as opposed to letting the entire table know that your shot at the pot has disappeared.

In the game of Texas Hold’em, antes are not required but blinds are compulsory. An ante is a small amount, usually agreed upon by the players and not strictly set with any poker game’s mechanics, that all players need to shell out and place into the pot before the cards are dealt. This serves the main purpose of increasing the value of the pot. Also, it keeps players in the game because they’ve already paid a certain amount of money that, if they quit, they will surely lose. Just like the ante, a blind is a kind of required bet. However, while the ante is required from everyone, there are only two blinds: the big blind and the small blind. The assignment rotates to give everyone a fair chance.

The small blind is initially the person to the left of the dealer. He is required to place a required bet that amounts to half the lower betting limit. For example, in a $2 – $4 game, the small blind would be $1. This bet is also placed in the pot before the dealer distributes cards to the players. Paying he small blind does not mean instant entry into the round. In order to be counted as a player in the round, one has to place the initial wager amounting to the lower limit or the minimum bet, and the small blind only pays half. He must pay the remaining balance before he can partake of the pot. The big blind is the player to the left of the small blind. He pays the full amount of the lower betting limit and is automatically part of the round unless another player raises the minimum wager.

Everyone is getting into the poker craze, and a lot of people have learned the game to its most advanced levels. They are such great players that a normal game at a casino poker table or online poker rooms just do not present them with enough challenges. Hence, the birth of poker tournaments. As with any game though, there are rules that need to be followed. Below are some general poker tournament rules:

Seating arrangement is randomly generated and no switching of seats is allowed.

The end of a tournament is marked by a player winning all the chips of a table.

A player is eliminated from the tournament once all his chips are lost.

At the event of a head-to-head, when there are only two players left, the player to whom the button is assigned will serve as the small blind as well as be the first to act.

Tournament officials are allowed to move other players to different tables in order to keep the balance.

Players are not allowed to deal amongst themselves during the tournament.

Registered players who do not show up are automatically eliminated.

Speaking among players is highly discouraged.

Tournament officials have the right to cancel tournaments.

Tournament officials have the right to reschedule tournaments.

Observers may not speak with the players and disrupt the game at any point of the tournament.

English is the only permitted language to be used during the tournament.

Players may not discuss hands until after a round is played and a winner has been announced. Doing so will result in instant disqualification.

Tournament officials have the right to kick out any players, freeze their accounts and impound their funds if they observe any fraudulent activities.

Casino house rules apply to players during tournaments. Unethical, rude and boisterous behavior may be grounds for disqualification.
