Judging by the name of the game, many people mistake it as something remotely connected with the internationally-known British spy James Bond. But not to confuse it with the card games the spy often play in casinos (again James Bond card game is not related to James Bond the spy nor any part of the movie scenes). But this game is an interesting game sometimes being claim as children’s game. There are not that many books nor websites that have an elaborate explanation of the game. Most people may recognize it from memory, as something that they played when they were young or overheard being played by kids.

Aside from James Bond, this game is also known as Atlantis of Chanhassen by other players, maybe some other names too that we still don’t know of. But in any case, James Bond is just what players shout in order to claim that they have already won the game. This game is usually played by two-three players using a standard deck of cards. Cards are distributed into piles to each players (4 cards each if there are 3 players, 6 piles each if there are 2 players). The last four cards though are placed in a row between the players, all facing up.

The goal of the game is to to collect four cards of the same rank in each pile. For instance, one pile has four eights, another pile has 4 jacks and so on. After the dealer says “go” to indicate the start of game, each player will now pick up a pile of cards, look at it to see if they can exchange a card in their hand from the face-up cards in the table. The strategy though would depend on what cards a player would want to hold on because that card could be the card that will complete your opponent’s pile. The game is simultaneous, with players playing as fast as they can. It should be noted that one pile can only be sorted once, after a player is done pairing up one pilem they may proceed to another pile and will not pick up the finished pile after.

First player to collect four matching cards in all their piles must shout “James Bond” then show all their piles facing up to see that they have really won.
