Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow is affectionately called “The Mouth” by his peers in poker, a nickname coined because he loved to talk. Almost 
finishing off his fourth decade here, Mike was born in LA on 1968. At a young age, he’s always been competitive and hyperactive, always thirsty for knowledge and new games to play. His main goal when engaging in competition was to win – not for money or bets, but really just to achieve the thrill of victory. He took up a job of becoming a poker dealer and used this opportunity to learn about poker, dealing cards, winning strategies, tips for poker players and all kinds of things that will help him improve his game. He started analyzing the gaming strategies and how each of the poker players made a call. When he had gathered enough information, he was able to build up his confidence as a poker player and this prompted him to join his first small scale poker tournament, which he was able to win.
Motivated by the positive results, he started joining more and more small tournements around the country. Soon, he found his confidence increasing as stradily as his net worth did. He was successful in his endeavors and up to this day holds the title of being the best Omaha Eight or Better player in the world. He has made the final table, won the WSOP Bracelet, finished second place in WSP, and consistently finishes among the top players of poker tournaments. He may be raking in millions from playing professional poker, but his personal life took a toll because of his gambling lifestyle. Mike found himself in prison because of drugs in the year 2005. Currently, he is rebuilding his life as a drug free poker player with the help of close friends and poker colleagues.
