Roulette
As much as I would like to say that roulette is a game of pure chance because there is really no way of knowing where the ball shall land on the wheel, a lot of people beg to differ with my statement and insist that it is more than just pure luck that cause victories. Roulette is an easy game where basically all you have to do is place your chips (bets) on a certain square on the roulette mat when the dealer is accepting bets. The goal here is to pick the same number as the one that will appear on the roulette wheel. Afterwards, he releases the ball into the roulette wheel and if the ball lands in the number or color that matches the number or color where the bet was placed, then you are an instant winner, then and there. The complications of roulette lies in the payout, the conditions, inside and outside bets, and the percentage computation of a victory. You can put your money not on the number but rather on the color (red or black), the correct third where the winning number is located, whether the ball is odd or even, etc.
A roulette wheel is a large circular rotating mechanism with pockets ranging in numbers from 1 to 36. These pockets come in alternating black and red colors. Depending on the region of the roulette table’s origin, there are extra numbers like a zero (European and American) and a double zero (American).
Special roulette chips are purchased separately from the other chips. They are more colorful and avoid confusion when it’s time for a payout. This is necessary because the people who bet are plenty, and these bets are virtually unlimited. Not only that, the betting process is very complicated as well. Roulette tables have minimum and maximum bets and must be made to qualify for a payout. Players may opt to bet on single numbers with a 35:1 payout, betting on two numbers (placing chips on the line between the two numbers) with a 17:1 payout, betting on four numbers with an 8:1 payout, betting on odd or even or colors with a 2:1 return, and betting on the zero or double zero. There are a lot of variations on these bets and plenty of rules that come with betting. I still stand by my opinion however that roulette is really a game of getting lucky!
